Digraph's

We have been working on learning some digraphs. A digraph is a combination of two letters representing one sound, as in ph and ey. The digraph's we have learned about so far are th, sh, ch, wh. We sing a song to the tune of BINGO- It goes like this:

There are some letters when put together
that make a new sound
t-h  th th th
s-h sh sh sh
c-h ch ch ch
and w-h wh wh wh

We also made some words using these digraphs and put them on spider legs.

Brown bear, brown bear

During the first few weeks of school we began learning about colors through Eric Carle's "brown bear, brown bear". A grandparent of a student in the PM class came in to help the students create some memorable art to go along with the story. It was so much fun to watch each child come up with their very own colorful animal!
