St. Patrick's Day Celebration

On Friday, we read a St. Patrick's Day story that my "friend" Lucky O'Shea the Leprechaun left for me to read. At the end of the book there was a note that he left. It said that he dropped some gold outside of our kindergarten doors. So we went on a hunt to find some. In the PM class, our 4th grade buddies went with us on the hunt. When we came back inside, Lucky had stopped by while we were out. We came back to a room with overturned tables and chairs! Lucky also left us some candy "gold"-Rolo's. Everyone had so much fun!

Valentine's Party

We earned our class Valentine's party by performing 100 acts of kindness. And because we had over 200 acts of kindness, I got ice cream with toppings for the class. They had so much fun playing games and making crafts! Thank you so much to everyone who helped out! I hope there aren't too many tummy aches after today!

Acts of Kindness

We were striving to do 100 acts of kindness from Martin Luther King Jr. day to Valentine's Day. If we reached 100 we got a class party. Well we had over 200 so we not only had a party on Valentine's Day but I got the children a special treat. It was so great to watch everyone become more aware of their actions. Thank you to everyone who sent in acts that their child performed!

100 reasons to love kindergarten

With the 100th day of school and Valentine's Day so close together we came up with 100 reasons why we love kindergarten. It was so fun to read all of them. And these kids give me 48 reasons to love my job!

Valentine's Day Information

-->
Sorry these didn’t get out Monday as I was out sick. But here is (hopefully) all of the information you will need regarding Valentine’s Day in our classroom.  We have already made our Valentine’s Day boxes that student’s will collect their Valentine’s in- so no need to worry about making one at home. If your child plans on bringing Valentine’s to school make sure there is enough for everybody.

AM has 19 boys and 5 girls (24 total)
PM has 9 boys and 15 girls (24 total)
*In order to insure that we can pass out our Valentine’s in a timely manner, please do not put individual names on the Valentine’s.

We will be doing some fun Valentine’s Day math and language arts activities in  class. After recess we will have our party. The AM party will be from 10:15ish-11:18 and the PM party will be from 2:30ish-3:25. We have volunteers in charge of games for the PM class already. If you would like to help with AM please contact Lindsey Carcamo at Lindsey.carcamo@gmail.com. If you are coming to our party, please leave siblings at home to keep the chaos to a minimum.

Also, regarding the math books that were sent home. We covered the material from the end of the book before we went off track in December. Some students expressed interest in getting to keep the “puppy books” so I let them keep them.

Thank you for your help with this! If you have any questions feel free to contact me!

100th DAY OF SCHOOL!!!

Our 100th day of school was so much fun (and so busy)! It was so adorable to see everyone dress up like they were 100 years old! We counted to one hundred by ones, fives, and tens. We brought 100 mystery items to school and grouped them by tens. We did work with our 100's chart. The children loved finding and painting their 100 gum balls. We even made crowns that said we were 100 days smarter! But the class favorite was probably our 100's trail mix where we counted out 10 pieces of 10 different snacks. Thank you so much to everyone who participated- it was a truly memorable day in kindergarten!
